E.T.'s poseable head, mouth and hands are the useful details here. The forefinger can point, and the included sunflower pot gives the figure something to hold. Those features suit a fan who wants the display to suggest familiar moments through the character's expression.
The glowing heart adds another recognizable reference. Because its switch is at the back, leave a way to reach behind the figure. That is a more useful placement decision than simply fitting the model's front view between other objects.
E.T. or Gizmo for a film-character shelf?
Gremlins: Gizmo 21361 is another poseable movie character, with adjustable ears and a head that rotates. Its standing and seated alternatives require rebuilding the lower belly and legs. E.T.'s appeal is the combination of face, hands, flowers and heart light.
The shelf shapes differ. E.T. measures over 24.5 cm high, 19.5 cm wide and 15 cm deep; Gizmo's standing pose is over 20 cm high, 27 cm wide and 8 cm deep. E.T. uses less width but more depth, so a narrow shelf is not automatically a better fit. Choose the character first, then check the dimension that constrains your space.
