Choose this Poké Ball if you want recognizable game scenes as well as a large display object. Closing it emphasizes the ball and grassy stand; opening it makes Professor Oak’s laboratory and the battle area the reason to keep looking.

Decide whether the ball will stay open
The lower half holds a battle scene; the upper half recreates Professor Oak’s laboratory with a library and computers. It’s worth choosing a shelf where you can open the model comfortably. Otherwise, you’ll mainly see the shell and grassy stand, which suggests a ball thrown to the ground.
Count the characters accurately
The included human minifigures are Red, Picnicker and Professor Oak. Pikachu and Eevee are additional Pokémon figures. That distinction matters if you’re comparing it as a minifigure purchase: five characters does not mean five human minifigures. Small Poké Balls and Pokédex tiles support the laboratory scene.
Compare a scene with a character
Up-Scaled Red Minifigure 40868 puts the Trainer himself at the center of the display, with movable limbs and a handheld Poké Ball. Pick 72154 for environments and a group of characters; pick Red if you want one large poseable figure. Start with which of those you’ll enjoy seeing on your shelf.
