Choose Mighty Machines when any of its eight construction vehicles would be a welcome surprise. If a child wants an excavator or crane in particular, this blind box doesn't promise that model. Start with the randomness before judging the building features.
A good fit for: Ages 7+ who enjoy surprise construction toys and collecting or trading cards.
One surprise, not a choice of eight
The assortment contains a road roller, wheel loader, dump truck, cement truck, wrecking-ball crane, mobile crane, bulldozer and excavator. A mystery box supplies one of those toys. The full lineup pictured together describes what can be collected, not what one box includes.
That makes the child's request decisive. 'A construction toy' can fit a surprise. 'The excavator' needs a known model, unless they are happy to receive something else.
The card extends a small build
Each machine has a moving Technic function. The included card carries stats on one side and a road graphic on the other, giving collectors a way to play, trade or assemble a road from the cards.
LEGO marks the series 7+ and lists 44 pieces in its product header. Keep that number attached to the catalog entry; it is not evidence that every different machine in the assortment contains the same number of pieces.
When to choose a named machine instead
Backhoe Loader 42197 gives you a known construction vehicle with a front scoop, rear digger and outriggers. It is the more direct choice when digging functions are the request. Pick 42233 for the surprise and collection activity, accepting that repeated purchases may bring a machine you already have.
