Is this the set for you?
Choose 77983 for a Jurassic World Rebirth boat adventure with several vehicles to use around one sea creature. Its molded Mosasaurus shifts the building emphasis toward the catamaran and equipment; choose 76974 instead if constructing a brick-built Mosasaurus is the priority.
A good fit for: Builders ages 7 and up who prefer boat, drone and helicopter missions with movie characters.
The vehicles carry the building and play
Look at the catamaran first when deciding whether this set suits the recipient. The crane can lower the underwater drone, and the platform tilts, giving the crew a reason to stay aboard between attacks. The helicopter adds another vehicle to the same adventure.
That equipment creates a different kind of interest from simply posing a sea creature. A child can launch the drone, move the helicopter and bring the Mosasaurus toward the boat. If those are the activities that appeal, the set has a clear purpose even alongside other dinosaur models.
What comes with the sea creature
The molded Mosasaurus has an opening jaw and movable flippers and tail. The crew consists of Zora Bennett, Dr. Henry Loomis and Duncan Kincaid, with accessories including a flare gun, harpoon and drone controller. They give a Jurassic World Rebirth fan recognizable roles and equipment for the scene.
The set is marked 7+ and contains 703 pieces. The sea creature's molded construction is the important qualification for a buyer expecting to spend the build assembling its body. Here, choose the whole boat encounter rather than assuming the dinosaur is built in the same way as every other LEGO Mosasaurus.
77983 or Brick-Built Mosasaurus Boat Mission 76974?
Set 76974 has a brick-built Mosasaurus, LeClerc and Atwater, a boat and two reef builds that can serve as display stands. It is marked 9+. That makes the animal construction and reef display the useful comparison points, while 77983 offers the catamaran crane, helicopter, drone and a different three-person cast.
LEGO lists the 77983 cargo boat with crane at over 13 cm high, 23 cm long and 12 cm wide. That is a boat measurement, so leave space for the separate models when planning a display. Choose the boat adventure or the creature-building project first; the similar set names can otherwise hide the difference.
