A pastel dream of a castle that gets a little wobbly once you rebuild it twice.

The castle build is the reason to buy this set.
Four spires, a rainbow staircase, a little diamond room and a fountain, all done in a soft pink and lilac palette I have not seen LEGO commit to this hard before. Where it stumbles is the 3 in 1 promise. The ship and the forest playground alternates feel like afterthoughts next to that first build, thinner and less satisfying to put together. I still think it earns its spot on a shelf, I just would not go in expecting three equally great builds.
Best for: kids and adults who want one gorgeous castle build and don't mind the other two modes being simpler
What it is
I will admit the pastel color palette is what hooked me first. LEGO Creator sets usually lean into grays and browns for anything castle shaped, so seeing towering pink and lilac spires with a rainbow staircase winding up the middle genuinely made me smile. The main build gives you four spires, two turrets, a fountain, a little diamond room and even a working telescope, all balanced on a cloud shaped base that LEGO's designers clearly fussed over, since the cloud detailing wraps around to the back of the model too. It reads as a real castle, not just a box with towers stuck on.
The catch
Here is the honest part. This is a 3 in 1 set, and the second and third builds, a unicorn ship with a rainbow sail and a forest cabin playground, do not hold up next to the castle. Reviewers who build all three modes came away saying the ship in particular needed more work, and that the alternates feel thinner and less considered. At $44.99 for 390 pieces, that unevenness stings a bit more than it would in a set where every mode pulled its weight. It is also a delicate build in places, more display piece than rough-and-tumble play set.
Who it's for
If you or your kid are drawn in by that one castle image, buy it for the castle and treat the other two builds as a bonus rather than the main event. It is a lovely centerpiece for a room that leans pink, purple or unicorn themed, and the new foal mould alone is a nice pickup for any animal-loving LEGO collection. If you specifically want three builds that each feel like a complete thought, I would look elsewhere in the Creator lineup.
The parts story
What the build is actually like, and the pieces worth knowing about.
Building the castle mode is the pleasant part of this set, going up in stages as each spire locks onto the cloud base and the rainbow staircase threads through the middle. It moves quickly for 390 pieces since a good chunk of that count goes toward small cloud, foliage and decorative elements rather than dense structural sections. Switching it over to the ship or the playground means a genuine teardown and rebuild, not a quick reconfiguration, so budget real time if you want to see all three.
The headline part here is the new moulded foal figure, LEGO's first attempt at a moulded animal in a Creator 3 in 1 set rather than the usual brick-built critter. It comes in yellow and pink Pegasus versions with wings plus a plain white unicorn, each with a small hole in the forehead so a horn piece can be added or left off. Add in the run of pastel-pink and lilac panels, the golden carrot piece, and a handful of recolored plates and slopes you rarely see outside pastel-themed sets, and there is real value here for anyone building a parts bin for fantasy or animal MOCs, even if the model count feels a little light for the price.
Fun facts
- 01This is the first LEGO Creator 3 in 1 set to include a moulded animal figure instead of a brick-built one, a new foal mould that doubles as a unicorn or pegasus.
- 02The set includes three horse figures in different colors, a yellow Pegasus, a pink Pegasus, and a plain white unicorn.
- 03All three builds share the same cloud shaped base, which LEGO's designers extended with cloud detailing on the back of the model as well as the front.
- 04Unicorn Castle launched in August 2025 with an RRP of $44.99 in the US, £34.99 in the UK, and €39.99 in the EU.
