Is this the set for you?
Choose Tornado-1 for a Tails fan who wants to pick up a plane and invent airborne battles. The movable wings and turning shooter support that job, while the included island and Badnik give Tails something to defend immediately.
A good fit for: Sonic fans ages 8+ who prefer a handheld aircraft to a mech or boat.
One plane, a clear little conflict
The red-and-yellow biplane is the center of this set. Its wings move, the stud shooter turns, and Tails can use either the front or rear seat. A posable Egg Chaser Badnik and a small island with a Chaos Emerald supply a reason to take off.
That is useful for a gift recipient who wants to start a story with the contents of one box. It doesn't require a broad landscape to explain the action: fly, defend the Emerald and face the Badnik.
Check the character before counting seats
LEGO lists one Tails minifigure. If you're buying for two children who each want a named hero, the two-seat aircraft doesn't settle that requirement. Tails' Adventure Boat 76997 includes both Sonic and Tails, with a different focus on water activities and a speed-sphere launcher.
Choose the boat for that character pairing. Choose Tornado-1 when the aircraft itself is the thing the recipient wants to play with.
Allow for the wings
The 310-piece set is marked 8+, and the plane measures over 7 cm high, 15 cm long and 23 cm wide. Check the width when planning a shelf space or a clear play area. A plane that looks short from nose to tail still spreads sideways.
