The verdict

I love that LEGO finally gave the Dueling Club scene its own little corner, and getting Gilderoy Lockhart as a minifigure alongside Snape, Harry, and Draco made me genuinely happy the moment I opened the bag.

This is a connector piece for the bigger Hogwarts Castle Modular System, so I'll be honest, on its own the build is over almost before it starts. It's for the completist who's already chasing the full castle wall, or for a Chamber of Secrets fan who just wants that specific foursome on the shelf without buying anything bigger.

What it is

I'll say it plainly, the reason to want this one is the little lineup of people inside it. Getting Harry, Draco, Snape, and Gilderoy Lockhart together in a single 157 piece set is the kind of thing that made me stop and smile, because Lockhart in particular doesn't show up in plastic form very often. The build itself is the Dueling Club platform from the Chamber of Secrets, with a small catapult mechanism and a couple of collectable wall portraits tucked in, and it goes together in one quick sitting.

The catch

Where I have to be honest with you is on scale and value. This is one of the small connecting modules in LEGO's Hogwarts Castle Modular System, meaning it was designed to slot alongside a dozen other pieces rather than stand alone, and at this size the price per piece runs noticeably higher than you'd expect from a themed set that isn't leaning on minifigures to justify it.
