Two Tangled locations, one working zip line, and a frying pan I love more than I should.

This one won me over faster than I expected.
You get Rapunzel's four-level tower and the rowdy little Snuggly Duckling inn, and the zip line strung between them is the piece that makes the whole thing sing. It is aimed squarely at kids who love Tangled and want to act out the story, and on that front it delivers in spades. If you came for a display centrepiece or a deep engineering build, this is not that, and I would not pretend otherwise.
Best for: Tangled-obsessed kids age six and up who want a playset they can actually play with
What it is
Rapunzel's Tower and the Snuggly Duckling Tavern gives you two of Tangled's best locations in one box, and the pairing is smarter than it first looks. The tower stands four levels tall and folds open to reveal a hidden lab, a kitchen and art room stacked with Rapunzel's paintings, and the little bedroom at the top. Across from it sits the Snuggly Duckling, the thug tavern from the film, which opens up to show a table, chairs and a buildable piano. Strung between the two is a working zip line, and that single feature is what got me. It turns a static pair of buildings into an actual scene you can run a story through, which is exactly what a set at this age range should do.
The catch
I will be straight with you about the value. At 84.99 dollars for 623 pieces, this is on the pricey side per part, and the licensed Disney tax is doing some of that work. You are also paying for a fairly gentle build. The techniques here are simple and the levels come together quickly, so anyone hunting for engineering surprises or a meaty afternoon at the table will find it slim. The mini-doll style will not be for everyone either, and if you strongly prefer standard minifigures that is worth knowing before you commit. None of this ruins the set, but it does keep it from being an easy recommendation for every buyer.
Who it's for
So who should get this? A child who loves Tangled and wants to relive the story will adore it, full stop. The play value is high, the two locations give real scope for imagination, and the zip line is the kind of feature kids fixate on. Collectors of the mini-doll Disney line will also want it, especially since all three figures are exclusive here and it has now started retiring, which has pushed sealed prices up sharply on the secondary market. If you are after a display piece or a challenging build for an adult evening, though, look elsewhere. This is a playset first and it is proud of that.
The parts story
What the build is actually like, and the pieces worth knowing about.
Building this is a relaxed, cheerful few hours rather than a test of patience. The tower goes up in clear level-by-level stages, and because each floor folds open you are constantly seeing how the play features will work as you go, which keeps it fun. The Snuggly Duckling is the looser, more characterful half of the build with its warm timber tones and cluttered tavern interior. Nothing here will stump a six-year-old with a bit of help, and that is the point.
The standout element is easily Rapunzel's frying pan, her signature weapon from the film and a lovely printed accessory to have loose in the collection. The purple and gold roof tiling on the tower is genuinely pretty and gives you a stack of useful decorative slopes and cones. Pascal the little green chameleon is a charming molded figure, and the printed paintings and story pieces (there is even a spare painting tucked in a drawer) add personality without padding the count. It is not a parts-pack set, but the printed and character elements carry real value if you love the Disney line.
Fun facts
- 01The frying pan included here is Rapunzel's iconic weapon of choice in Tangled, the one she uses to knock out Flynn Rider when they first meet.
- 02The Snuggly Duckling is the tavern full of soft-hearted thugs from the film, home to the show-stopping I've Got a Dream musical number.
- 03All three mini-dolls (Rapunzel, Flynn Rider and Mother Gothel) are exclusive to this set, and Pascal the chameleon rides along as Rapunzel's companion.
- 04The set began retiring after its 2024 run, and sealed copies have climbed well above the 84.99 dollar original price on the secondary market.
