The verdict

This one is really a minifigure set wearing a scenery costume, and once I made peace with that I loved it.

You get all six original Avengers plus three Hydra troopers, posed mid-leap on clear stands like a comic splash page come to life. The build itself is slight for the money, so this is for the person who has always wanted the full early MCU roster in one box, not for someone chasing a big display centerpiece. This set captures the snowy opening charge from Age of Ultron, the bit where the whole team dives at the Hydra base at once, and LEGO has frozen that three-minute rush into a single leaping moment. When I saw it built with everyone hovering on transparent stands, it genuinely read like a comic book splash page you could hold. That is the thing that got me. It is less a diorama and more a captured second of motion, and I think that framing is smarter than people gave it credit for.

The catch

I will be straight with you about the money, because that is where this set gets complicated. The recommended price sits near a hundred dollars for 613 pieces, which works out to roughly 16 cents per part, and reviewers were quick to point out that is steep for LEGO Marvel. The build reflects that too. Despite the promise of a multi-modular playset, the five sections only clip together in a couple of loose ways, and the dark grey Czech hedgehog barriers are fiddly to place and pop apart more easily than they should. A few reviewers came away genuinely unsure whether this wants to be a display piece, a playset, or a figure pack, and I understand the confusion.

The building is honestly the quiet part of this box. It goes together faster and simpler than the price tag leads you to expect, with the five snowy sections coming up quickly and most of your attention landing on posing the figures on their clear supports. The trickiest moments are the Czech hedgehog anti-tank barriers, which look great scattered across the ground but refuse to sit still, so expect a little patience there. It is a relaxing couple of hours rather than a technical workout.

The value lives in the figures, and that is where the interesting parts hide. Every single character carries either a fresh print or a rarer element, so nothing here feels like filler. Hawkeye picks up brand new torso and leg printing that stands out, the metallic titanium knee and hip detailing turns up on limited figures, and the big Hulk mould anchors the whole lineup. Best of all, there is not a single sticker in the box, so every bit of detail you see is properly printed and will stay crisp for years.
