Is this the set for you?

Choose 72162 when the child wants to take two Pokémon on an adventure with a destination. Its raft and shipwreck give Eevee and Lapras a shared journey, while the mast mechanism supplies the payoff. Responsive play requires an existing compatible SMART Brick.

A good fit for: SMART Play owners who want a journey and treasure mechanism alongside two Pokémon.

The shipwreck gives the figures a shared task

Eevee rides a raft beside Lapras while the pair follows a map to the shipwreck. Lower the mast to lift a rock and reveal a chest containing coins and gems. That connected sequence is the reason to choose this over two figures supplied mainly for battle: the setting gives the characters a destination and something to discover together.

It is a play-scale Eevee, not the adult display model

Eevee's ears and tail move, and Lapras has four movable flippers. The separate adult Eevee 72151 is a 587-piece display figure with its own limb, head, ear and tail articulation. Choose this 623-piece adventure for the pair and their setting; choose the adult model when Eevee alone should fill the shelf. Lapras measures over 16 cm high, 17 cm wide and 13 cm deep, before allowing for the other scene pieces.

Supply the responsive hardware

Eevee, Lapras and the treasure box contain SMART Tags. A compatible SMART Brick from an All-in-One set is required for responsive sounds and lights; no brick or charger is included. Older bricks need the Pokémon firmware update. The set is rated 8+. Its announced launch markets are the US, UK, Germany, France, Poland and Australia; Canada is outside that rollout.
