Choose Squirtle's buggy when an existing SMART Play collection needs a vehicle and a rescue activity. The remote-control theme is pretend play; the concrete attractions are the hinged chassis, water stud shooters and Squirtle riding along.
A good fit for: SMART Play owners who want driving stories and water-shooter play rather than a stationary battle scene.
The vehicle changes the kind of play
The buggy has a hinged chassis, two water stud shooters and storage for the water studs. Squirtle rides along with movable arms and tail; the supplied scenario has Squirtle and the Trainer putting out fires at a veggie burger grill. That is a different activity from positioning two Pokémon opposite each other on a battle platform.
Two tags do not mean two powered bricks
Squirtle and the buggy each incorporate a SMART Tag. A compatible SMART Brick from an All-in-One set supplies the responsive sounds and lights, and this expansion includes no SMART Brick or charger. Existing older bricks need the Pokémon firmware update through SMART Assist. The two tags identify different parts of the play scenario; they do not remove the hardware requirement.
Choose between travel and a stationary setting
The 320-piece buggy is rated 7+ and measures over 12 cm high, 19 cm long and 9 cm wide. For a moving vehicle with target shooting, choose Squirtle. Mew's Drone Search 72161 instead centers on dropping berries onto a target to reveal a hiding Pokémon. Neither expansion replaces the hardware supplied in Pikachu 72164 or Charizard and Jolteon 72167. The announced rollout covers the US, UK, Germany, France, Poland and Australia; Canada is outside it.
