Is this the set for you?
Choose 72165 for Umbreon and Garchomp when compatible SMART hardware is already owned. Its 831 pieces exceed the 751-piece Charizard/Jolteon starter, but this is still a Compatible expansion with no SMART Brick or charger.
A good fit for: Existing SMART Play owners who prefer Umbreon and Garchomp and want a championship scene.
Choose the opponents after choosing the hardware
Umbreon and Garchomp battle for a Poké Ball trophy, with a giant Poké Ball also part of the set. Both figures are posable and contain SMART Tags. For an owner, the pair and championship props are the reason to choose it. For a newcomer, Charizard vs. Jolteon 72167 supplies two SMART Bricks and a charger, making it a more complete way to begin responsive battle play.
A championship pair or a changing lineup?
The trophy gives Umbreon and Garchomp a contest to finish. Choose them when these two Pokémon and the championship setting are the attraction. Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly 72158 instead offers three figures and a wheel for choosing opponents, so the pair can change. Mewtwo 72163 has the same 10+ age mark as this set but concentrates on a single Pokémon escaping a laboratory tank. These are different play structures even though all require separate SMART hardware.
What the specifications do and do not tell you
The 831-piece set is rated 10+, and Garchomp stands over 14 cm tall. Those figures describe construction and size; they do not indicate included electronics. Responsive sounds and lights require a separately owned compatible SMART Brick, with Pokémon firmware for older bricks. The announced launch markets are the US, UK, Germany, France, Poland and Australia; Canada is outside that rollout.
