The verdict

I went in expecting a throwaway promo build and came out genuinely charmed by the wings on this thing.

The white and pearl gold color blocking is doing all the work here, and it works, this little horse looks like it belongs on a shelf next to sets three times its price. I will not pretend it is a deep or clever build, it is quick and fairly linear, but the payoff pose at the end is worth the twenty minutes. Get it if you can, skip the hunt if you cannot, there is no need to chase resale prices on this one.

I'll be straight with you, my expectations for this one were low. Promotional animal builds tend to be an afterthought, a handful of bricks slapped together so a box can say 'free gift inside'. The Pegasus is not that. Someone actually thought about the silhouette here, the neck arches, the wings sweep upward instead of just sitting flat against the body, and the whole thing has a sense of motion even sitting still on a shelf.

The catch

The color palette is what sold me. White body, pearl gold mane, tail, and hooves, it is a combination LEGO does not use often and it makes the model look far more expensive than 278 pieces usually buys you. I've seen people mistake it for a designer set at a glance, which tells you the design team knew exactly what they were doing with a limited part budget.

Who it's for

Where I have to be honest with you is the build itself. This is not a puzzle, it is a fairly straightforward assembly with a predictable rhythm, legs, then body, then wings, then details. If you love the meditative, surprising click of a Creator Expert set, you will finish this one and want more. Give it to a younger builder or someone who wants a quick, satisfying win, and it lands perfectly. Chase it hard as a collector purely for investment reasons and you will be disappointed, since gift-with-purchase sets rarely hold resale value the way limited retail exclusives do.

Building the Pegasus is quick, it moves in clear stages: a sturdy four-legged base first, which locks in early and gives the whole model good stability on a shelf, then the barrel of the body, then the neck and head, and finally the wings, which is where the model earns its keep. The wing assemblies use layered plates angled to catch the light, so instead of two flat panels stuck to the back you get real depth and feathering.

The standout parts are the pearl gold elements, the mane pieces, tail, and hoof caps all come in that finish, and pearl gold is not a color LEGO throws around casually, so seeing it concentrated on one small model gives it a genuine glint under normal light.
