The verdict

I bought this one for a minifigure, plain and simple, and I have a feeling most people will too.

Venomized Wolverine is a genuinely new idea, black symbiote sludge creeping over his classic yellow suit with a recolored cowl, and it is the first time he has ever shown up in LEGO form. The car underneath him is a fun little fifteen minute build with two spring shooters hidden in the headlights, nothing more, nothing less. Get it for the minifigure and let the car be a bonus, because as a set on its own it would not hold my attention for long.

Best for: Marvel minifigure collectors who want the first-ever Venomized Wolverine without spending big

The full review

What it is

This is one of those sets where the box art and the actual selling point are two different things. The car is a stubby little supercar with a nicely printed hood and a shape that reads as fast even sitting still on a shelf, and I like that the designers snuck two spring loaded shooters into the headlights instead of bolting on an obvious weapon rack. It builds in about fifteen or twenty minutes, which is exactly right for what it is.

The catch

The real reason to pick this up is standing next to the car. Venomized Wolverine has never existed in LEGO form before this set, and the way they handled it, black symbiote grime spreading over his classic yellow and blue suit with a specially recolored cowl, actually looks cool in hand even if a strip of pale flesh tone showing through the black is a bit rough around the edges. Spider-Man, on the other hand, is the exact same figure LEGO has reused in more than twenty sets since 2021, so he is along for the ride and nothing else.

Who it's for

If you collect Marvel minifigures or you have a kid deep into the symbiote storylines right now, this is an easy yes at its price. If you are looking for a substantial build or play experience, skip it, there just is not much car here once the novelty of the shooters wears off.

The parts story

What the build is actually like, and the pieces worth knowing about.

There is not much of a build here, and that is by design. The car goes together fast with straightforward slopes and curved panels forming the body, and the only real trick is tucking the two spring shooter mechanisms into the headlight housings so they fire cleanly without looking bolted on. It is a fine rainy afternoon build for a younger kid, not a set that will challenge an experienced builder.

At 134 pieces the value is almost entirely in that one minifigure. The recolored cowl and the symbiote paint application on Wolverine's torso are new to this set, and that exclusivity is what people are actually paying for. Beyond that there is nothing rare in the parts bin, just standard car panels and the printed hood piece, so builders chasing new elements or unusual prints should look elsewhere and just enjoy this one for the figure.

Fun facts

  • 01Venomized Wolverine marks his first ever appearance as a LEGO minifigure, symbiote costume and all.
  • 02The set launched worldwide on January 1, 2026 at nineteen ninety nine in the US and Europe alike.
  • 03The included Spider-Man minifigure is a reused mold that has now appeared in more than twenty different LEGO sets since 2021.
  • 04Both headlight units on the car double as disguised spring shooters, a detail several reviewers missed on first glance.
