This is the closing boss of Minecraft rendered as a build, and the Ender Dragon is what makes it sing.
It is fully jointed, it perches on the End Ship, and it fires little rays when you press its back, which is the kind of feature I thought I would find silly and instead kept doing over and over. The End Ship itself is a lovely purple curiosity with a lift-off roof and a brewing stand tucked inside. If you or a Minecraft player in the house has ever fought their way to the End, this one lands.
Best for: Minecraft players aged 8 and up who have actually reached the End dimension
What it is
The End is where Minecraft actually ends, the final dimension with the boss dragon circling over floating islands, and this set hands you that whole scene. You get the Ender Dragon perched on the End Ship, and honestly the dragon is what got me. It is fully jointed at every limb, so instead of a stiff display piece you have something that swoops, rears back, and folds its wings. Press its back and it fires little rays, a hidden function I assumed I would find gimmicky and then could not stop triggering. The End Ship underneath is this eerie purpleish vessel with a dragon head at the bow you can lift off and wear as a helmet, plus a lift-off roof and swing-out sides that reveal a brewing stand and health potions inside.
The catch
I will be straight with you about the value. At 79.99 for 657 pieces, this is not the fattest box of bricks per dollar you will ever buy, and licensed Minecraft sets have always run a little rich. The build is also on the gentle side. It is pitched at ages 8 and up, and an adult or a seasoned kid builder will get through it in an afternoon without ever feeling stretched. The dragon is the one section with any real complexity, and even that is more fiddly than hard. And with only two proper minifigures in the box, the Ender Explorer with elytra wings and the Ender Knight, the character roster leans on the buildable Enderman and the little Shulker to round things out.
Who it's for
If you play Minecraft, or someone in your house does, and reaching the End dragon meant something, this set is an easy yes. The action features are the good kind, the ones that get a toy played with rather than shelved. If you are chasing part-count value, a meaty engineering challenge, or a big cast of figures, this is not the set that delivers it, and you would do better looking at one of the larger Minecraft biome builds. But as a faithful, playable version of the game's final fight, it earns its keep. Worth noting it retired in December 2025, so shelf copies are drying up.
The parts story
What the build is actually like, and the pieces worth knowing about.
Building this is a relaxed, breezy few sessions rather than a marathon. The End Ship goes together as a compact hull with those signature end-stone and purpur colors, and it opens up cleverly so the interior stays reachable for play. The dragon is the section worth slowing down for. Getting all the joints assembled and balanced so it perches on the ship without toppling is the one moment the build asks you to pay attention, and clicking that shooting function into place is quietly satisfying.
The star part is the pre-formed Ender Dragon head, an instantly recognizable Minecraft mold that anchors the whole model and doubles as a wearable helmet at the ship's bow. The set leans hard on those blocky Minecraft angular pieces and end-dimension purples that you do not see in many other themes, which makes the parts feel distinct even if they are not rare. You also get the coveted dragon egg, the trophy the End drops in the game, plus a brewing stand and potion elements. It is not a parts-monster set for MOC builders, but the color palette alone is a nice haul if you build Minecraft scenes.
Fun facts
- 01In Minecraft the Ender Dragon is the game's original boss, and defeating it drops the dragon egg trophy that this set faithfully includes.
- 02The dragon head at the ship's bow lifts off and can be worn by a minifigure as a helmet, mirroring the wearable dragon head players can collect in the game.
- 03The set launched in the 2024 Minecraft wave and retired in December 2025 after roughly a year and a half on shelves, with sealed copies since climbing above the 79.99 retail price.
