The verdict

I grinned the whole way through this one, and I did not expect that going in.

Tom's oversized head and Jerry's tiny mischievous grin translate into BrickHeadz shape better than I predicted, and there is real charm in seeing two rivals who spent decades chasing each other across a screen finally sitting still on a shelf together. This is not a set for anyone chasing part count or building complexity, it is a set for anyone who grew up loving this cartoon and wants a small, cheerful piece of it on a desk. If that is not you, there are BrickHeadz in this wave that will do more for your money.

Best for: Tom and Jerry fans and BrickHeadz collectors who want a cheerful, low commitment display piece

The full review

What it is

I'll be straight with you, BrickHeadz sets live or die on one thing, whether the sculpt actually reads as the character once it's boxy and three inches tall. Tom and Jerry pull it off. Tom's head shape and that classic wide-eyed scowl come through clearly, and Jerry keeps his sly, pointed little face even reduced to a handful of studs. Building them felt less like construction and more like watching two familiar faces slowly assemble themselves out of a bag of parts, which is exactly the appeal of this line.

The catch

Where I want to be honest with you is value. This is a smaller BrickHeadz box built around two figures and 212 pieces, and depending on where you find it, the price per piece runs higher than a lot of other things on shelves right now. There is also not much building here in the way of technique or surprise, BrickHeadz construction is intentionally simple and repetitive by design, so if you already own a few of these you know the rhythm before you open the box.

Who it's for

Get this one if you love Tom and Jerry, if you collect licensed BrickHeadz, or if you want a genuinely fast, low pressure build to hand to a younger builder or a nostalgic adult who grew up on the cartoon. Skip it if you are shopping purely by part count or want a set that will keep your hands busy for an evening, this one is over in a sitting.

The parts story

What the build is actually like, and the pieces worth knowing about.

The build moves in the two familiar BrickHeadz stages, first Tom's boxy body and oversized head, then Jerry's smaller frame right alongside him, and both go together quickly with the simple stacking and layering technique this line always uses. There is no real complexity to hunt for here, the satisfaction comes from watching a recognizable face emerge stud by stud rather than from clever building tricks.

The standout parts are the printed and molded pieces used for each character's face and features, since BrickHeadz sets live and die on how well those elements sell the likeness, and here they do the job. Beyond the faces there is nothing rare or headline-grabbing in the parts list, this is a set about presentation rather than about hunting for a new mold or an unusual recolor.

Fun facts

  • 01This set brings two of the most famous rivals in classic animation into LEGO's BrickHeadz collectible figure format, standing them side by side rather than mid chase.
  • 02BrickHeadz sets in this scale are built around the same core technique across the whole line, so builders who own other entries will recognize the construction rhythm immediately.
  • 03Pairing Tom and Jerry in a single box rather than selling them separately is typical of how BrickHeadz handles duo and rival characters, letting collectors display the pair together as intended.
